Hamadan, Zandjan & Nanadj

Hamadan is a collection name for carpets produced in a vast area around the city of Hamadan in the Northwest of Iran. Every village is true to its own traditions and the carpets can be recognized thanks to their own different designs and patterns, inherited from generation to generation. Zandjan is a Hamadan carpet reminiscent of Bidjar carpets but with a larger pattern. Nanadj carpets are some of the finest of the Hamadan carpets that are both affordable and very well-made. A colourful, overall pattern with large, stylized flowers and geometric designs is typical.
