Within village and nomad carpets you will find everything from rustic to more elegant medallion and collector carpets. Nomad carpets are durable and beautiful in a somewhat primitive way. The motifs are often inspired by the everyday life, often depicting animals and nature. Geometric designs are plentiful and although red and blue are the most common colours they also come in other colour settings. Village carpets range from consuetudinary carpets to elegant and exclusive carpets. One of the most well-known is the Hamadan carpets which actually is a collection name. The Hamadan carpets are among the most well-known village carpets, but is actually a collection name for a variety of village carpets from the area around the city of Hamadan, in the north west of Iran. Other known village carpets are Bakthiari, Hossinabad, Beluch, Nahavand and many more.
