Bakhtiari, Veramin & Semnan

The Bakhtiari are thick and solid carpets knotted of the warm and fat wool from the sheep grating of the tall hills of the Zagros mountain range. The most common design is the garden motif, where the center is divided in squares or diamonds, with stylized flower motifs, cypresses and vases, but medallion designs also occur. The background colours are blue, red or ivory white.
