Kashgai, Nimdeh & Kashkoli
Kashgai, Nimdeh and Kashkoli are carpets knotted by the Kashgai people. Kashgai are sturdy carpets knotted in wool only and the numerable patterns are inherited through generations. The traditional hebatlu design, with a central medallion repeated in the corners, is commonplace. Another frequently occurring motif is the hooked medallion in the shape of a hexagon or a diamond enclosed in a larger medallion. Nimdeh carpets are knottet by now resident Kashgai nomads. The tightly knotted carpets are made of 100 % plant dyed and hand spun yarn of high quality and are produced on a small scale in the homes. Kashkoli are high quality carpets that are very dense, thick and sturdy.
