Koliyai, Kurdi & Lori

The Koliai are compact, hard knotted high quality wool carpets that are both steady and sturdy. The pile is so tight and high that dirt and gravel barely can break through. This makes the carpets ideal for the hallway and public places.

Kurdi is a hand knotted Indian carpet with inspired by the Turkish Kurdistan carpets. A genuine Kurdistan is made out of the highest quality wool and the background colour is very often dark blue, against which the geometrical pattern of diamond- and medallions appears.

Lori carpets are glossy, sturdy and affordable carpets, knotted by the Lore, that live in the south west of Iran. When it comes to the design, the Lore has been inspired by other nomad carpets, not least the Kasghai. The patterns are geometric, especially using the rhomb shaped steps. Traditionally the carpets are dark red and blue at the bottom, but today you also find lighter carpets. The Lori are wool carpets where you sometimes find goat hair in the warp. The wool is fine and fat, making the carpet both shiny and strong.
