Keshan

The archetype of the Oriental carpet... A classic Keshan is red or blue (in a saturated hue) with a central medallion surrounded by flowers. The city of Keshan is an old carpet producing center and this is where the famous Arbadil carpet was manufactured in the 1600 century. A sign of the popularity and the classic beauty of the Keshan carpet is how often it has been copied and reproduced, for example in machine made carpets.
